From birth, during your stay at St Andrew's hospital and beyond, Dr Paul Koch is there to assist in the medical care of your newborn. Shortly after the birth of your baby, a thorough examination is performed. Dr Paul Koch visits daily during your stay at St Andrew's Hospital, where he will check on your baby's progress and follows up with a 6-week review in our rooms. If your baby requires time in the special care nursery, you can take comfort knowing you will have Dr Paul Koch's expertise and care during this period.
Dr Paul Koch can offer early intervention and specialist care for your newborn. Common concerns may include:
- Reflux.
- Colic.
- Plagiocephaly.
- Growth issues.
- Jaundice.
- Feeding issues, including cow’s milk protein intolerance, breastfeeding in conjunction with OC/LC).
If you haven't birthed at St Andrew's Hospital but would like the peace of mind knowing your baby has been assessed by a specialist paediatrician; Dr Paul Koch offers 6-week newborn checks. It is recommended that you obtain a referral so you are eligible for a Medicare rebate.
